Drive Through Secondary Containment Berm

Spill Berms for Cars and Trucks

Question: I am looking for a type of drive-through secondary containment berm. I need something that I can drive a vehicle over the top of temporarily. Mostly I will be working on these vehicles and I need something that can serve as a kind of mat underneath in case of a very small spill. Do you have anything like what I have described?

drive through secondary containment bermAnswer: Thank you for contacting us! In terms of a drive-through berm, there are a couple of different options you could consider. If you will be dealing with only a very small amount of liquid, a great option to consider might be the Foam Wall Berm. This unit typically offers a height of about four inches (4"). This is ideal for withstanding being driven over by vehicles and/or various other machinery.

When using this berm, vehicles simply roll right over the top of the foam wall. This wall is designed to bounce back, providing flexible containment in your location.

Features:

As with many of our secondary containment berms, these foam wall units are constructed from either a PVC or Urethane material. This type of fabric is highly resistant to chemicals including potential equipment used during work on military trucks, tanks, industrial equipment, and cars.

Features for these berms include:

  • PVC or Urethane Liner
    • PVC is usually either 22 or 30 ounces
    • Urethane is usually 40 ounces
  • Foam Walls
  • Low Profile
  • Standard Lengths: 10 or 12 feet
  • Standard Widths: 20, 25, 30, 50, or 75 feet
  • Standard Height: 4 inches

When compared to some of our other secondary containment berm options, the foam wall berm offers a lower profile so vehicles can easily roll over the top of the unit.

All of our secondary containment berms are designed for rapid deployment and easy mobility. This allows them to be quickly moved to required locations or areas around large facilities.
